About Willkie Farr & Gallagher
Trainees and vacation schemers at Wilkie Farr & Gallagher are fully integrated into the firm from day one, whilst being fully supported by all around them.
This is best summed up by one of our future trainees, who completed their vacation scheme in summer 2025: “What struck me most was the focus Willkie put on my own development, by junior associates right through to partners. I felt that fee earners really cared that I left Willkie with a proper understanding of their work, as well as the needs of their clients (whether they be PE sponsors or household corporates). Throughout the fortnight I was trusted with actual work, and given thorough feedback, whilst partners were very giving with the time they put aside to get to know me and help answer my queries about their practices.”
For the 24/25 application process:
1. The video interview consists of four questions, based around your motivations and wider commercial knowledge. You will have 30 seconds to prepare each answer and 90 seconds to record your answer.
2. The written exercise is marked on an entirely name blind basis, and is scored through a reduction system where candidates loose marks for any mistakes or errors. It is a 90 minute task.
3. The written exercise is entirely new this year, and will not be the same as previous years' exercises.
4. The written exercise is administered online, and you will need to book a slot to complete the task. All candidates complete the task across the same two week period.
5. The assessment centre consists of a case study interview, where the associates / partners will largely be judging your thought process in working your way through to answers.
